PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT THROUGH THE COLLECTIVE POWER OF HUMAN UNIQUENESS

A VIEW ON THE ROLE OF HR

The role of HR is at a critical tipping point, business leaders understand the importance of managing their workforce efficiently to realize competitive advantage. They look to HR to be thought partners in forming strategy. Great HR leaders play an active part in a leadership team, immersed into competitor analysis, consumer and product understanding, are curious about opportunities and threats and have enterprise level thinking. This is the only way to fully understand the business and create a people plan which will contribute to bottom line results.

5 PRINCIPLES OF EFFECTIVE HR....

According to Hazel......

  • People plans should be simple, focussed on what’s going to create the biggest return for the business and employees
  • Smash the basics out of the park, don’t implement a fancy development system if you can’t pay people correctly or if managers aren’t equipped and confident to hold great 121’s
  • The HR team in any organisation has incredible influence on strategy implementation, ensure every member of a HR team is proud to work in HR
  • Be brave and stand up for what is right, professional integrity won’t always make you popular but it does drive trust and respect
  • Empower managers, they know their people and want the responsibility, be clear on what they can deliver with the support of HR

AT MY BEST WHEN.....

I get energy from working with businesses to improve results, balancing the art and science of HR from organisational design to employee engagement. I do my best work with businesses in change, who are future focused, fast paced, positively chaotic, and truly care about employees.
